Kazuo Hayakawa
Kazuo Hayakawa, 84, of Hilo, died Sept. 19, 2020, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a parts salesman for the former Hilo Truck and Trailer and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Private services will be held at a later date. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by brothers, Hisashi (Sue) Hayakawa of Honolulu and Osamu Hayakawa of Downey, California; sisters, Fusae Hayakawa, Helen (David) Hamasaki and Jane Okazaki, all of Honolulu, and Nancy Hayakawa of Los Angeles; numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas Yogi
Thomas Kokichi Yogi, 96, of Mountain View and Keaau, died Sept. 18, 2020 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was an optician and the former owner of Optical Dispensers of Hilo and a U.S. Army WWII veteran.
The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by daughter, Sandra (Wes) Sawada of Hilo; son, Guy (Molly) Yogi of Seattle; siblings, Florence Fugami of Renton, Wash. and Aki Yogi of Hilo; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pearl Yogi
Pearl Akiko (Sakazaki) Yogi, 88, of Mountain View and Keaau, died June 26, 2019, at Morningside Residence Adult Family Home in Seattle. Born in Hilo, she worked in the floral business and farming anthuriums.
Family requests no koden (monetary gifts).
She is survived by daughter, Sandra (Wes) Sawada of Hilo; son, Guy (Molly) Yogi of Seattle; sibling, Gary Sakazaki of San Mateo, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was survived by her husband, Thomas Yogi, who died on Sept. 18, 2020.

Vivian Fujita
Vivian Madiline Fujita, 86, of Glenwood, died Sept. 14, 2020 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Milwaukee, she was a homemaker.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by husband, Hisao Fujita of Glenwood; children, Victoria (Larry) Angel of Mesquite, Texas, Howard (Darlene) Yoshida of Glenwood, and Frank Yoshida of Volcano; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

Nelson Tsuji
Nelson Masashi Tsuji, 79, of Hilo, died Sept. 16, 2020, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired fire chief for the Hawaii Fire Department and a former Security Officer with TSA at the Hilo International Airport.
Services will be held at a later date. Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by wife, Betty Tsuji of Hilo; son, Niel Tsuji of Minnesota; brothers, Douglas (Chieko) Tsuji and Earl (Betty) Tsuji, all of Hilo, and William Tsuji of Honolulu; sisters, Maizie Ash of Hilo, and Pearl Tsuji of Honolulu; two granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edmund Kaawaloa Jr.
Edmund Pualani Kaawaloa Jr., 80, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 9, 2020 in Honolulu. Born May 30, 1940, in Kalapana, he was a construction worker for Hawaii Reinforcing Steel, a former cook on Johnston Island, security supervisor for Securitas Security Services and member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Hui Makai Motorcycle Club.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Shandry Kaawaloa of Kailua-Kona; sons, Guy (Jen) Kaawaloa of Las Vegas, and Edmund Kaawaloa III of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Solomon (Frances) Kaawaloa of Leilani Estates and Robert Kaawaloa of Waipahu, Oahu; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
