Quote of the Day: Persistence - Ricochet.com

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. – Calvin Coolidge

Coolidge is the intellectual patron of Ricochet. Statements like this are one reason why.

The next month and a half will be a test of the power of persistence. The left will scream and rage. The never-Trumpers will continue to explain why a senile candidate who will allow Marxists to run this country while gutting our civil liberties is somehow superior to a President who has re-established the US economy, restored the US’s position as the world’s leader, and is well on the way to establishing a lasting peace in the Middle East, while simultaneously kneecapping Iran, because “orange man bad” is more important than actual accomplishments.

What it will take for the good guys to win? Persistence. Persistence and determination. Speak up for the right side. Point out the behavior of the “mostly peaceful” rioters. Persist in defending your right. Vote in November (or earlier if you can) and get like-minded acquaintances to turn out. Fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run.

If we persist we will triumph.
