ASTORIA — At 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the Performing Arts Center in Astoria, the North Coast Chorale will perform “The Seven Last Words of Christ,” a free concert directed by Denise Reed with chamber orchestra accompaniment featuring local instrumentalists and soloists.

The “seven last words” refer to the seven short phrases uttered by Jesus on the cross. Traditionally, these seven phrases are called words of Forgiveness, Salvation, Relationship, Abandonment, Distress, Triumph and Reunion.

Will Caplinger, Phil Keim and Lois Willis, well-known Chorale soloists, will thrill the audience with their presentation of this sacred cantata while being supported by the Chorale singers.

The Arts Center is located at 588 16th St. Funding for this project was provided by the Clatsop County Cultural Coalition.
