The nun died shortly after she begged Katy Perry to stop.
In a bizarre twist over a court case between Katy Perry and five nuns, one nun, Sister Holzman, has died during her court appearance with her last public plea begging for Katy Perry to stop.
"And to Katy Perry, please stop," Sister Holzman said. "It's not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people."
Shortly after, Sister Holzman died while in court at age 89.
So where did this shemozzle all start?
Back in 2015, a fierce property battle began after an eight-acre estate in Los Feliz, California was put up for sale. It had been a convent for California Institute of the Sisters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary for quite some time and there were two very interested buyers.
One of those buyers was Katy Perry while the other was a restaurateur-hotelier, Dana Hollister.
The messiness came when the nuns refused to sell it to Katy Perry because "it would be a sin to sell it to her" and preferred it go to Hollister. The Archdiocese, however, wanted to sell it to Perry.
Fast-forward to 2016 and Perry won the case, receiving $US5 million while the Archdiocese received $US10 million.
It's a pretty tragic ending for a messy story.
