Kate Middleton is odds on to give birth this week, and it is thought she will go into labour in the next few days.
Today, Monday 23, is the most popular day that punters think Kate will go into labour.
Leading bookmaker Coral has cut the odds on Kate and Prince William’s new baby being born on St George’s Day into 6-4 (from 3-1).
The new child is 5-1 to be born on Kate and William’s wedding anniversary on the 29 April and 12-1 to arrive on Princess Charlotte’s birthday which is the 2 May.
“There has been a huge gamble over the last few days on the royal baby being born on St George’s Day which now looks highly probable according to the latest betting,” said Coral’s John Hill.
Kate Middleton and Prince William will be welcoming their third child.
They already have Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two.
Many have been eager to known what the couple plan to name their third baby.
Arthur is the 5-1 favourite with Coral in the betting on the name of the new baby, Mary can be backed at 6-1, while Alice is 7-1.
The firm make a boy the odds-on favourite at 10-11 in the gender betting, while a girl is evens.
Arthur was the biggest and most notable mover since the market was opened last year, thanks to a flurry of bets this week.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "It's all change in the betting and with days to go before Kate gives birth, punters now seem to think the Royals will be welcoming a baby boy into the family."
According to Coral there has been a late rush for the name James in the last days before the birth.
Leading bookmaker Coral has again slashed the odds on Prince William and Kate Middleton naming their third child James to 8-1, having been 16-1 around a week ago, with the birth expected any day now.
“The birth of a Royal baby is one of the biggest betting events of the year from a novelty point of view with punters queuing up at the moment to get their bets on.
At the moment we’re seeing a rush of bets on the baby to be a boy. Arthur is the 5-1 favourite but there’s been a lot of support for James which has now halved in odds to 8-1 fourth on the list.
“Alice and Mary are the top two picks of girls names,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
The royal baby names have been narrowed down to just four choices and bookies suspect “someone knows something”.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Meghan Markle broke a royal rule for a public engagement.
Prince Harry’s fianceé Meghan Markle wore a low cut dress today which she styled with bare legs.
The style move, while appropriate for the hot weather, broke the Queen’s protocol for how royals must dress.
