The wild child Annabelle Neilson, who has died aged 49, once said: “I’d prefer to be infamous rather than famous” — and lived her life pursuing that goal. Like her friend Kate Moss, she worked as a model, once appearing naked in an advert for her “soulmate”, the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
She was a heroin addict at 16 but later ditched the drug. In her late teens, she met the heir to the Rothschild banking millions, Nat Rothschild, on a beach in India. “He first asked me to marry him half an hour after we met and then every day afterwards,” she recalled.
Six years later, in 1994, they eloped to Las Vegas.…
