Video of rat in Baltimore 7-Eleven goes viral

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A Baltimore woman captured video of a rat in a southwest Baltimore 7-Eleven, which quickly gained traction on Facebook.

The rat is seen running on top of soda bottles in the window of the store on Washington Boulevard and Patapsco Avenue.

Rosalind Caldwell posted on Facebook that she was shocked to see the rat in the convenience store.

The video had nearly 400,000 views in one day.

The owner of the store, who did not want to be named, said he tried to address the issue as soon as he heard the concern.

He said an exterminator and the health department came out the same day.

Both of them failed to find droppings or any other signs of a rat.

He said maybe the rodent got in during an overnight delivery.

He did not close the store because he said he doesn't know what else to do.

"It's kind of an unfortunate situation for me, as a small-business owner," he said, noting he took over the store three years ago and "we had just run the store so well."

Videos of rats in Baltimore eateries have created a stir lately.

Both Lexington Market and Northeast Market temporarily closed their doors after rats were seen inside the facilities.
