The Oakland Athletics selected Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, giving him a multi-million dollar signing bonus.
However, he’s back on the gridiron with the Sooners for one more ride before turning pro, and that wasn’t good news for the UCLA Bruins on Saturday afternoon.
Following Oklahoma’s 49-21 victory over Chip Kelly’s Bruins, during which Murray threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns and added 69 yards and two scores with his legs, Kelly had the quote of the day. When asked about Murray, Kelly joked that he was only upset Oakland GM Billy Beane didn’t give him more money to skip this football season:
Chip Kelly: The only person I'm disappointed in is Billy Beane, I wish he would have given (Kyler Murray) more money. Maybe he wouldn't have come back. #Sooners

The A’s may wish they had given him more money, too. As you can see below, they got in on the fun as well:

For now, though, Murray is still on the gridiron, and he may work his way higher on some Heisman ballots if he keeps playing like this.
