Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants are currently attempting to get win No. 2 of the 2018 NFL regular season. The G-Men are taking on the Carolina Panthers on the road.
It’s been a good game, with the Giants currently trailing the Panthers, 20-13. New York is making some serious progress, though. It’s looking like it’ll be a good finish.
Barkley had a tough start to the game, not recording much of anything with his first couple of carries, but he’s started to break out.
The Giants’ star rookie caught a touchdown pass from Odell Beckham Jr. – yes, he caught a pass from Odell Beckham Jr. – and he now has 117 total yards on the day.
Odell was speaking really highly of his rookie teammate before the game.
“What he can do is unreal,” Beckham said this week. “Whenever he gets the ball in his hand … it’s like, I’m supposed to turn into a blocker, but I turn into a spectator. I just sit there, and I’m watching him, because it’s like a mirror image. I’m watching him break tackles, this and that, but I have to go pick somebody up on a block.”
Beckham continued:
“We trust fully what he can do with the ball in his hands, and letting him make plays,” Beckham said. “I know it’s early to say it, but in my opinion, he’s going to be one of the best in the league. If he isn’t already.”
Life is certainly going well for Barkley these days. He’s excelling on the field and he’s got a lot going on off of it, too.
Barkley is dating Anna Congdon, whom he met at Penn State.
The couple welcomed their first child into the world earlier this year.
Anna posted a heartfelt photo of her family at last week’s Giants game.
That’s a pretty awesome picture. Good for Saquon.
The Giants and the Panthers, meanwhile, are about halfway through the third quarter. The game is on FOX.
