Raipur: In the first phase of voting in poll-bound Chhatisgarh, a 100-year-old woman cast her vote in Dornapal region on Monday. Despite being threatened by the Maoists to boycott the elections, the residents are determined to cast their vote. The phase 2 of the polls is scheduled for November 20.
According to a ground report by Mirror Now, a large number of women turned out for voting in the Jagdalpur area. Not only women but youngsters were also seen at the polling station. A voter on being asked about expectations from the upcoming government said that there has been development in past 15 years but we want our children to stay here and complete their higher education, so a medical college should be constructed by the government. She further added, there is also large-scale unemployment in the state, the government should opt for measures to eradicate the unemployment issue.

Meanwhile, another resident said, "...although a new hospital has been built by the government, it is very far from our place. Earlier the hospital was at a walking distance now we have to take a transport to reach the location."
Reportedly, a major development in the poll-bound state was witnessed in Dantewada district, where the government has set up a polling booth for the first time after independence.
