With more than 40,000 tweets to his account, Donald Trump is often blasted for being unnecessarily controversial and fuelling hatred.
But his tweet to share the incredible video of one female freestyle footballer was a rare moment of positivity on the US president’s timeline, The Sun reports.
He simply said: “Amazing!” as he shared Akin Sawyerr’s post of the woman who showed incredible control over the round ball.
The 84-second clip is an extraordinary freestyle routine from one keepy-uppy queen, reportedly named as Hadhara Charles Mjeje.
She starts off with a few regular kick-ups before a series of headers, first standing up and then crouching down.
After a run of 90 headers in a row, she then alternates between using her head and her shoulder.
The sensational video continues as she stands up again, resting the ball on the back of her neck and then going back to using her feet once more.
Her showboating somehow went up another level with a fine piece of control on her chest, then her thigh in a lunge position and then with the outside of her heel and more neck flicks.
Finally, after 154 touches she caught the ball to take the congratulations from those behind the camera, although she looked as though she could have gone on all day.
Sawyerr’s tweet has gone viral with more than 117,000 retweets and 390,000 likes. It has now been watched nearly 9.3 million times, including by President Trump.
But with the USA in a state of emergency over the wall on the border with Mexico, some were unhappy Trump was spending his time tweeting about football videos rather than sorting out his country.
Just seven minutes before replying to the viral video, he had tweeted: “The biggest abuse of power and corruption scandal in our history, and it’s much worse than we thought. Andrew McCabe (FBI) admitted to plotting a coup (government overthrow) when he was serving in the FBI, before he was fired for lying & leaking.”
One reply said: “We’re apparently in day 3 of a national emergency, and Trump is tweeting about things he’s watching on TV and random videos he found on the internet.”
Another said: “He’s supposed to be running the country not sharing videos on social media like a teenager.”
