She’ll soon be up to her neck in kids!
April the giraffe — whose pregnancy became an internet sensation two years ago — is expected to give birth again within days or even hours, her handlers said Friday.
The 18-foot-tall celebrity, who lives at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, is inches away from welcoming her fifth calf into the world, park officials said via Facebook.
“April has continued to keep us all on edge today after the start of thick discharge, lots of tail raising, & obvious calf re-positioning,” the park proclaimed Wednesday night.
On Friday, park owner Jordan Patch Park told Today.com the birth was “imminent” — expected in days or even hours.
In April 2017, roughly 1.2 million viewers hoofed it to their computers to watch the massive mama give birth to her 6-foot bundle of joy, Tajiri, on YouTube. Another 700,000 animal lovers craned their necks to tune in via Facebook Live.
Fans can once again follow April’s special delivery live on the park’s YouTube giraffe cam.
“The pregnancy is not much different,” Patch told Today.com. “If anything, we were able to more accurately predict our timelines, which has allowed us to better prepare, plan and communicate to the followers and fans.”
“[She’s] progressing as we would expect and showing all signs that this pregnancy, same as the prior, is textbook thus far!” he said.
On Friday morning, the live cam showed the animal world star relaxing in her enclosure alone and nibbling a snack.
