The RNC are investigating after a shocking video showing the apparent assault of a young girl by a group of other teens started making the rounds on social media.
The video shows a young girl cowering and saying “I’m sorry” as she is confronted and struck repeatedly, before being set upon by a group of girls who are egged on by others off-camera.
The entire incident, which played out outside the Avalon Mall, was recorded on a cell phone and is being widely shared on Facebook, with over 306-thousand views.
The girls set upon the young girl as if to play up to the camera.
You can hear one of the girls say “On three, we’re all going up to her… one, two, three” before they surround her and start kicking and hitting her, as the apparent recorder utters the phrase “World Star”, an aggregate site for viral videos.
VOCM is not sharing the unedited video because it includes minors.
The investigation is continuing and charges have not yet been laid.
