BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A 31-year-old mother has been charged with child abuse, injury and murder.
Court officials confirmed that Adrian Porch was arrested Tuesday.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says that they were contacted this past Friday around 10:30 p.m. by Vidant Police about the death of a 6-week-old girl.
WITN has confirmed the baby's name was Loralynn O'Neal. The Pitt County Medical Examiner's Office says the cause of the infant's death is from brain trauma after suffering multiple skull fractures.
According to a birth certificate, the girl was born on May 3rd at Vidant Medical Center and Porch is listed as the mother.
Porch is scheduled for first appearance on Thursday.

Deputies say they were notified Friday by Vidant Police of the death but didn't say if the baby died at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington or Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
