“Government’s job is not to get you stuff, or to get somebody else’s stuff for you. It’s to preserve your liberty.” – Rand Paul
If you listen to the Democratic candidates for President, all they pledge is different ways to get you stuff or get someone else’s stuff for you. Liberty? Well, maybe so far as it does not interfere with getting you stuff or getting someone else’s stuff for you.
Then again, enslaving people has always been a core part of the Democrats’ policy.
Voters can choose someone other than Trump next year, but those who do are literally signaling that they would choose to become a slave (perhaps more accurately a serf*) rather than have to suffer another four years with Donald Trump as President. Talk about selling your liberty cheaply.
* A serf is someone with the privileges and rights of a slave, but is owned by the government. For their own good and protection, of course.
