- Today show star Dylan Dreyer announced on Wednesday morning that she's pregnant with her second child.

Lots of exciting things are happening in Studio 1A. In April, Today star Hoda Kotb announced that she had adopted her second baby girl. Weeks later, Jenna Bush Hager spilled that she's expecting her third child (and first baby boy) this summer. And now, the Today family has even more reason to celebrate — third-hour co-host Dylan Dreyer shared on July 17 that she's pregnant with her second child ... and it's a boy!
To announce the happy news, the Today co-host played a clip of her 2-year-old son, Calvin, holding her sonogram. Adorably, Calvin looked at the picture and determined that his mom was actually having "five babies."After showing the video, Dylan's co-hosts eagerly passed along their congratulations.
The news is especially sweet given that Dylan endured a miscarriage this past winter. The third-hour co-anchor suffered from secondary infertility, which occurs when women who have one or more biological children have difficulty conceiving another.
According to Today, she and her husband, Brian Fichera, had tried to conceive for six months before her doctor referred them to a specialist. It was then that Dylan learned she had a low egg count and lots of scarring from her emergency C-section during Calvin's birth.
"It's been an emotional journey. I opened up about infertility, my second-hand infertility, and just surgeries I've had to had," Dylan explained on the show. "The day I was going to start my IVF, I had all of my medicines – I brought it down to the Kentucky Derby with me. The doctor calls and says, 'Don't take anything, you're pregnant.'"
Dylan also made sure to thank everyone who has been sending her well wishes and positive thoughts. "I swear the prayers got me to where I am."
When is Dylan Dreyer's due date?
While Jenna is due sometime in late July or early August, Dylan isn't set to give birth until January. This is definitely good news for NBC, as it means that both Hoda and Jenna will likely be back when Dylan is on maternity leave early next year.
When Dylan welcomed her first son, she was out for about three months. That means, fans probably won't be seeing Dylan on the show early next spring.
Of course, the show will still go on. Just as the Today crew has been doing for Hoda's absence, various cast members will likely fill in as needed in the 9 a.m. slot. If not though, we're sure Sheinelle Jones, Craig Melvin, and Al Roker can hold down the fort just fine until Dylan is back.
