The New England Patriots have now had two key players miss games this season because their wives have been giving birth.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports this morning that Patriots running back James White will not play in today’s game against the Jets.
“Patriots’ RB James White is out today vs. Jets, per sources. White’s wife is expected to give birth,” he reports.
White is the second Patriots player to miss a game for this season.
New England was without Kyle Van Noy in Week 1 as his wife gave birth to their child.
“Nobody gameplans any better than the Patriots….except when it comes to timing baby deliveries. For the second time in three weeks, a key Patriot will not play so he can be with his pregnant wife,” Schefter tweeted.

The Patriots were just fine in Week 1, blowing out the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they should be just fine today.
New England is set to take on the New York Jets at 1 p.m. E.T.
The game will be on CBS.
