- Kim Kardashian is opening up about the crazy things that happened before North West's birth.
- Apparently, Kim got McDonald's, a bikini wax, and a manicure before North West's arrival.
Okay, so I've never given birth before, but my mother has. I was 15 at the time and can remember the exact moment that she started going into labor, how ridiculously painful she said it was for her, and that she needed to go to the hospital straight away. And for the most part, this is what I (and television) have depicted child birth to be like. But unsurprisingly, birth is nothing like this when you're Kim freakin' Kardashian.
For the birth of her first daughter, North West, Kim confessed that she pretty much was trying to take care of a bunch of little personal errands before going to the delivery room. On Foodgod: OMFG, (her BFF) Johnathan Cheban's podcast, Kim legit said that she wanted get food from McDonalds, get her vag nice and pretty for delivery, and even wanted to stop for a fresh coat of paint for her nails.
“I go, ‘I need a McGriddle at McDonalds.’ I told Jonathan, ‘Do you mind driving me to get a bikini wax?’” Kim remembered. “I actually had to squeeze her inside of the car and pull her out to get this wax,” Johnathan replied, and honestly he is such a good friend for doing that for Kim!
“So we’re racing trying to ditch them [the paparazzi] and then at that moment I get the call [from my doctor] saying, ‘Hey, you have preeclampsia, you have to deliver right now.’” Kim added. “I went home and they were like, ‘You have to deliver today.'” FYI: Preeclampsia is a rare condition that pregnant women contract that consists of high blood pressure and body swelling, and if left unattended, it can lead to fatal complications for the mother and her child.
While the thought of finally being able to deliver would send most people into panic mode, Kim started panicking for a much different reason—the color of her nails. In fact, the color of Kim's nails bothered her so much that she asked her doctor to pause delivery so she could get a baby pink manicure.
“My nails were, like, dark. It was when I was still in my Linkin Park After Dark phase of nails or like my Burgundy nails,” Kim recalled. “And I was like, ‘Oh, no no, I’m having a girl. I really need a nice light pink nail for delivery.’ So I told the doctor, ‘Are you sure I have to deliver right now? Can you give me like two hours?’ And he was like, ‘Fine, meet me in two hours.’”
I mean, regardless of Kim delaying her birth by a few hours, North West turned out to be a happy and healthy baby girl and that's what really matters here, guys!
