International Girl Child Day 2019: Since 2019, October 11 is seen and celebrated as International Girl Child Day. It is a day dedicated to celebrating girls, amplify their voice and stand up for their rights. The theme for this year is 'Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable'.

On the occasion of International Day of Girl, UNICEF, the child rights body, tweeted, "Brave, Powerful, Bold, Innovative, Resilient, Courageous, Strong, Unscripted, Unstoppable. Girls can do any - and everything! Let's tear down all barriers and lift them up. Let's step aside and let girls lead."
