Every person has a mountain in their life, it may take on several shapes and sizes but it is a mountain; it's your mountain which you need to climb on your own.

Today is International Mountain Day, it is observed on December 11 every year since 2003. Due to the increasing attention towards the importance of mountains, the United Nations declared 2002 as the UN International Year of Mountains.

The theme of International Mountain Day 2019 is 'Mountains matter for Youth.' The youth are the future leaders of tomorrow. They can take the lead and save natural resources, which are being threatened by climate change.

As per the United Nations, mountains are home to 15 percent of the world's population and a quarter of the world's animals and plants. Mountains are unavoidably linked to your everyday life; you can't avoid seeing them or dealing with them.
