Sanford Valentine's Day babies receive special keepsakes - KFYR-TV

BISMARCK, N.D. - Looking into your newborn baby's eyes for the first time is a magical moment.

Volunteers at Sanford hospital strive to make the day even more special by giving families whose babies are born on Valentine's Day a memento to mark the holiday. Every baby born today will receive a Valentine's themed hat to keep their little heads warm.

"It'll definitely be a keepsake and we'll hold on to it for the little baby box forever," says Natasha Nieuwsma, mother of newborn Holden Nieuwsma.

So far, one baby has been born at Sanford this Valentine's Day.

Staff says they expect about five more deliveries. Each baby will be going home with their own knitted hat.
