Inspiring Celebrity Quotes For Mother's Day - Moms

Behind the lights and cameras, celebrity moms are still moms doing what mothers do, which is not always glamorous and doesn't always receive glowing praise or win prestigious awards. But, as any mom will tell you, being a mother is the toughest job you'll ever love.

Let's dive right into quotes said by famous moms to celebrate this year's Mother's Day.

"Having four kids is endless stuff. It's endless entertainment, it's endless stress, endless responsibility. Everyone's at different ages and levels, everyone's into different stuff. But everyone is into slime."

-Maya Rudolph

"...As moms we have a unique opportunity to keep changing this attitude that ambition is an ugly quality in a woman."

-Reese Witherspoon

Becoming a mother means learning who you are and also learning who your children are. You find strength you never knew you had and an unimaginable capacity to love. Mothers understand what it means to love unconditionally. They want to be all they can be for and to their children. A mother will do anything to protect her kids.

"My favorite thing about being a mom is just what a better person it makes you on a daily basis."

"When I had my children and I felt that type of love, which every mom out there understands, it made me understand that there was a purity to love."

-Jennifer Lopez

Moms also understand, as hard as it is, sometimes in order for our children to become the best version of themselves, we have to let them grow and become their own people. This means making their own decisions to choose their own paths, despite the challenges that may be a consequence of those decisions. Of course, it's a mother's natural inclination to protect her children from harm however, we cannot protect them from the world forever.

"Sometimes we try to protect our children so much that when something doesn't go right in their lives, they're unprepared to deal with adversity. I don't think that does our children any favors."

-Taraji P Henson

One of the challenges of motherhood is feeding finicky children. One day your 7-year old loves mac'n'cheese and hot dogs,  the next they can't stand them.  Most moms know trying to feed our kids "healthy food" (or anything green)  is an uphill battle, no matter how we try to hide the veggies in that mac n' cheese-actually, that's probably why the kids won't eat it anymore! But moms will try-and we know better than to fix a plate for ourselves. We just wait to see what the kids won't eat and that becomes dinner.

"The majority of my diet is made up of foods that my kids didn't finish."

-Carrie Underwood

As a mom, the teen years can be exciting as well as challenging, but mostly challenging. At one time in your child's life, you were their universe. The child whose face would light up when you entered their room, plopped on their bed for a cuddle and a chat, now wants nothing to do with you. No more kisses, no more hugs. Now, your 'baby' is a moody, pubescent adolescent who wants nothing to do with you. They believe they know more about the world than you, despite the fact that you've been where they've been. Moms get it. We were their age once. Now, we have a deeper appreciation for what our own mothers did for us, and the hell we put them through at some point or another throughout this journey called life. Mom's get it. Besides, your baby will always be your baby. You'll love them forever.

"When your children are teenagers, it's important to have a dog so that someone in the house is happy to see you."

-Nora Ephron

There is a famous adage, which says 'mother ' is the name of God on the lips of children. Where would any of us be without our moms, who have dried tears, washed wounds, held our hands in encouragement, and wept with us through trials and tribulations. They've helped to mend broken hearts in the way that only a mother can, with gentle words or gestures, perhaps she says nothing at all –but she's there. Moms know who their children are and what they need. They know exactly what to do or what to say to ease our pain, motivate us, and of course, set us straight when we know we need to get our act together but don't want to. Nobody on earth can replace a mother, and no one will ever know you or love you like your mom.
