We don't need a special day to remember our war heroes but we need one to honour them and their bravery every year.

January 15th, Indian Army day is a day of national pride and to celebrate the honour of our army for their selfless service & valour.

Significance :

On this day in 1949, The country got its first Indian commander-in-chief of the Indian Army, Field Marshal KM Cariappa who took over the post from General Francis Butcher, the last British commander-in-chief of India.

Field Marshal Cariappa was the first 5-star ranked officer of the Indian Army. He adopted the slogan 'Jai Hind'.
