Crisanta Cabanting

Crisanta “Cris” B. Cabanting, 85, of Hilo, died Jan. 30, 2021, at her residence. Born in Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, she was a retired nursing supervisor for Kona Community Hospital and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and HGEA.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by spouse, Frederick Cabanting Sr. of Hilo; sons, Frederick Cabanting Jr. and Jon Cabanting of Las Vegas; brother, Peter (Naty) Beltran of Waipahu, Oahu; sister, Leonie (Ben) Alcaraz of Denmark; and nieces and nephews.

Stanley Oishi

Stanley Yoshio Oishi, 90, of Pahoa, died Jan. 13, 2021, at his residence. Born in Pahoa, he was a retired anthurium grower and breeder for Big Rock Anthuriums, U.S. Army Korean War veteran, and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission and Higashi Machi Kumiai.

Private services held. The Family requests no koden (monetary contributions) or flowers.

He is survived by son, Calvin (Laura) Oishi of Keaau; daughter, Annette (Kris Yokoo) Oishi of Oak Park, Illinois; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gregory De Luz

Gregory “Greg” Allen De Luz, 56, of Paauilo, died Jan. 25, 2021, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 27, 1964, in Honokaa, he was the co-owner of Edwin De Luz Trucking and Gravel LLC and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Feb. 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for Mass. A drive-through, no contact visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. at 777 Kinoole St. in Hilo (former Hilo Lanes). Casual attire.

He is survived by, wife, Tanya De Luz of Paauilo; sons, Luke (Teani Branco) De Luz and Jake De Luz, all of Paauilo; sister, Deborah (Kevin) Balog of Paauilo; aunt, Barbara (Al) Perry of Maui; and a niece and a nephew.
