Borough community to celebrate, honor life of late Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke - News 12 Bronx

A Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke, who was killed in Los Angeles last year, was honored and remembered by the community Tuesday with a parade.

A mural of Pop Smoke, which was painted by local artist Kenny Altidor, is the spot where a parade kicked off.

Pop Smoke would have been 22 years old today. He was killed during a home invasion in Los Angeles in February 2020.

Today, his life was celebrated during the second annual Pop Smoke Day. That parade began in Brooklyn alongside with a slew of festivities in the late rapper's honor. There were also basketball games all day at Seaview Park.
