On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier and changed the face of Major League Baseball forever, when he started in his first game for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson was the first African American player in the history of the league; something that was extraordinary at the time. Not only is he recognized for this feat, but he is known for paving the way for many negro players after his time.
