He's been telling adversaries "you're despicable," for eight decades.

And it was on this day, April 17, 1937 that Daffy Duck made his debut and eventually became a timeless, legendary character for the Looney Tunes franchise.

It was in the Looney Tunes short "Porky's Duck Hunt," that Daffy made his debut alongside Porky Pig. The two would continue on to make several shorts together including "Robin Hood Daffy," "Yankee Doodle Daffy," and "Daffy's Inn Trouble."

Daffy Duck was voiced by legendary voiceover actor Mel Blanc, who did a large number of the Looney Tunes characters, including Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. Blanc also voiced Barney Rubble and Dino on "The Flintstones," Mr Spacely on "The Jetsons," and Heathcliff The Cat.
