I have never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure. – Mark Twain
Last week gave me an obituary I read with great pleasure: that of Ted Kaczynski. He was the Unabomber, a wacko environmentalist who mailed bombs to random individuals. For me, he has always been the face of the “world is ending because of mankind” environmentalists. You know – the ones who are running the country today intent on eliminating gas stoves and furnaces and cutting back farming to reduce its environmental impact.
If they get their way millions, perhaps billions will die. (Poor Ted. He could have achieved his goal on a Pol Pot level had he only chosen to apply his genius on that way rather than attempting to kill people retail via mail bombs. And he could have gotten rich, doing it.)
I am sure there are folks out there who will be glad to point out that Kaczynski wasn’t all bad and will defend him. (Maybe even here on Ricochet.) For them, I offer this, proof that he had at least one redeeming quality:
Sometime around 2008. The Student Insurgent newspaper at the good ol' University of Oregon. They don't have the issue archived, but we excerpted it at the college magazine I worked for because it was too funny not to reprint pic.twitter.com/YexbNbqYTm

He found leftists insufferable.
