Florida is looking to send yet another representative to the Little League World Series! This would be the 24th time a team from the Sunshine State would be represented in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
2023 Southeast Region Title Preview – Florida (Lake Mary LL) vs Tennessee (Nolensville LL) – Tuesday, 5 ET on ESPN
– Florida: seeking 2nd LLBWS appearance in last 15 years; advanced to LLBWS in 2021 as region runner-up (only U.S. teams advanced to LLBWS).
– Florida: 4-4 in Southeast Region final all-time.
– Lake Mary LL (FL): 1st appearance in Southeast Region tournament (seeking 1st LLBWS appearance).
– Lake Mary LL (FL): since state tournament, team is 6-1 and has outscored opponents, 41-19 (23-5 in regional tournament, 18-14 in state tournament).
– Tennessee: seeking 11th LLBWS appearance
– Nolensville LL (TN): looking to make LLBWS for third straight year and for 5th time overall; reached LLBWS as South Nashville LL in 2013 and 2014
– Tennessee: looking to make LLBWS in 3 straight years for 2nd time and for 1st time since making it 3 straight years from 2012-14
– Tennessee: looking to win Southeast Region for 7th time since 2001 (would break tie with Georgia for most by any state in Southeast Region)
– Finally, Tennessee: has never lost a Southeast Regional title game (6-0 entering this year)
– Nolensville LL (TN): since state tournament, team is 8-1 and has outscored opponents, 71-12 (31-10 in regional tournament, 40-2 in state tournament)
– Stella Weaver (TN): can be 22nd female to play in LLBWS
– Winner plays Friday, August 18 in Williamsport (vs Mountain or Metro Region champion)
Little League World Series Fun Facts
The LLBWS tournament in Williamsport, Pa. begins on Aug. 16 and end with the United States and International finals on Aug. 26 and the LLBWS final on Aug. 27. The entire schedule and results are here.
