The Iowa Hawkeyes currently have a claim to the longest-tenured head coach in college football in Kirk Ferentz. The epitome of stability, consistency, and molding teenagers into great young men has been the pillars which Ferentz has built the Iowa program upon.
Today, Ferentz turns 68 years old as he gets ready to begin his 25th season in charge of the Hawkeyes. His time has been nothing short of legendary and will certainly earn him a seat at the table with some of the all-time great coaches in college football history when all is said and done.
With a career record at Iowa of 186-115, seven 10-win seasons, 20 seasons at or above .500, and 19 bowl bids with a bowl record of 10-9, Ferentz has had a run that most schools in America would dream of.
As Ferentz gears up for his 25th season, here is a look at some of the best moments during his tenure at Iowa as we celebrate his 68th birthday today.
