Who will receive the Social Security check today?
Since the Social Security Administration (SSA) manages four different programs, they created a payment schedule so all beneficiaries could be aware of their Social Security check payment dates. According to this schedule, those retired workers, survivors, and disabled people who claimed benefits after May 1997 and were born between the 11th and the 20th will receive their Social Security payment today. After the SSA delivers these benefits, the next Social Security check will reach beneficiaries’ bank accounts on June 26th for all those RSDI recipients who were born between the 21st and the 31st.
Even though the Social Security Administration delivers payments on a staggered schedule with fixed payment dates on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of each month, this can change depending on whether a payment date falls on a weekend or federal holiday. For instance, this month comes with a change in the regular payment dates, as June 19th falls on Juneteenth, so the SSA rescheduled that payment for today. As a Social Security beneficiary, it is always recommended to keep up to date with all payment modifications so you know when the Social Security check reaches your bank account.
