Carl Taniyama
Carl Katsumi Taniyama, 84, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 30, 2020, at his residence. Born Jan. 19, 1936, in Kealakekua, he was a retired OSHA inspector, former county building inspector, member of Waiaha and Kailua Shita Kumiai, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by wife, Mitsue Taniyama; sons, Carlton (Charlayne) Taniyama all of Kailua-Kona, and Clayton Taniyama of Honolulu; brother, Donald Taniyama, of Hilo; sister, Pearl (Tommy) Yoshimura, of California; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jeannie Heishman
Jeannie Rose Chereau Heishman, 94, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 26, 2021, in Honokaa. She was born Jan. 2, 1927, in Algiers Algeria, North Africa.
She is survived by son, Charles Heishman of Punaluu, Oahu; daughter Louise (Barry) Christian of Kailua-Kona; granddaughters Nicole (Joseph), of San Francisco, and Jody (Ekolu) Hall; and two great-grandchildren.

William Kenoi
William “Billy” Punapaiaalaikahala Kenoi, 52, of Mountain View, died Jan. 26, 2021, at his residence. Born Nov. 9, 1968, in Kalapana, he was an attorney and served as the former Mayor of Hawaii County.

John Bailey
SSG. John DSK Bailey, 27, of El Paso, Texas, died Jan. 15, 2021. Born Dec. 23, 1993, in Wailuku, Maui, he was a fire direction chief in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by mother, Carla Bailey of Kailua-Kona; father, Matt Bailey of Lahaina, Maui; sister, Lauren Bailey of Boston; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
